<strong>Correlation analysis between risk factors and mucositis oral in head and neck cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy</strong>

ABSTRACTIntroduction: Radiotherapy is a cancer therapy that uses ionizing radiation to damage cells. Ionizing in the head and neck area can disrupt function integrity of oral mucosa cause mucositis. In Bandung, prevalence risk factors mucositis (HNC) patients undergoing radiotherapy have not been studied. Some textbooks claim radiotherapy-induced HNC occurs at almost 100%. Various associated with studied, giving significantly different results. This research analyzes correlation between radiotherapy. Methods: cross-sectional retrospective study secondary data from medical records RSHS January 2015 until December 2019. A consecutive sampling method was used collect match Inclusion criteria, including diagnosis HNC(ICD-10), receiving first cycle last cycle; having complete record following variables (location coding by ICD-10, gender, age, education level, smoking habit, radiotherapy, treatment, body mass index, comorbid disease). All were then analyzed using Spearman correlation. Result: 171 showed 59 had after 26.9% male 7.6% female, susceptible age 40-60 years.
